International Travel Trends of 2018

The Middle East is the trendy hot spot for international travel so far in 2018.  According the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the Middle East is the fastest growing travel region in the world with a 57% growth in international arrivals.

The traditional hot spots in Europe still remain popular, however, travelers are tending to venture to less traveled destinations where there is more capacity and better pricing.  Places like Belarus, Moldova, Cyprus and Poland are seeing upticks in visitors and even offering incentives.  Belarus, for example, now offers five day visa-free travel.

Finally, Canada was listed as the New York Times top place to go this year.  Inbound tourism has reached a 14 year high with almost 20 million visitors. Chinese travel to Canada has grown 24% year to date.
